The National Republican Congressional Committee, a panel devoted to electing GOP House members, has spent $745,000 since Sept. 1 for ads slamming the Democratic hopeful, Michael Arcuri - and $82,000 to pump up their own candidate, Ray Meier.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, a similar panel dedicated to helping Democrats, countered by shelling out $167,000 to promote Arcuri and $160,000 for mailers hammering Meier, according to data compiled by the campaign watchdog group PoliticalMoneyLine.
